Every time I open IE this error message pops up: Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. The signature reads: AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: wininet.dll

ModVer: 6.0.2900.3086 Offset: 0001b7e0

I have searched for possible solutions and have tried every one of them, but to no avail. Another problem has now arisen in my attempts to fix the prob. In IE properties, I attempted to delete all files and cookies and this message is now coming: Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. This signature reads: AppName: rundll32.exe AppVer: 5.1.2600.2180 ModName: wininet.dll

ModVer: 6.0.2900.3086 Offset: 0001b7e0

There is also some other message coming just after I close this DLL one--it says something like Dr. something Debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close...etc. I don't remember the exact message, but I can't fix it yet

I have the same problem, apparently it's the aftermath of an internet explorer java virus, I found it with AVG7. I redownloaded wininet.dll and put it in it's correct folder, and now it no longer does that message. I hope it works for you!
