I cannot download anything. The error msg I keep getting is: This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage. What does it mean? What's wrong with my computer and what do I need to do?

It means that you need to furnish a password, have the correct cookie on your computer, be making the request from the correct IP address, etc. in order to view that particular page.

It could be deliberate on the part of the website owner, if they have information they don't want circulating willy-nilly around the Net.

If could also be an error. If you think that's the case, e-mail the site owner and tell them about the 403 error. Other than that, there's nothing you can do about it.

You might have some spyware or viruses on your machine. You could also try a different browser instead of ie, like safari or firefox. Both are free to download.
Hi there. Nothing is wrong with your computer, necessarily. This could mean any number of things. The one I would suspect is that the server itself is having problems answering queries from outside hosts. However, to ensure the problem isn't on you, go to a command prompt (Start-%26gt;Run-%26gt;type "cmd" and hit Enter). Type ipconfig /flushdns and hit Enter. This flushes the DNS cache on your system. Next, depending on your browser, it would be a good idea to flush its cache as well as cookies and temp files. If this doesn't change things, have a buddy go to the same website and follow the same procedures you performed to see whether the issue remains. If it does, the server is experiencing some sort of technical difficulty.
