There could be a couple of different things going on. But it does sound like your internet explorer is hosed (broken). Your best bet is to go to www.getfirefox.com and download and install firefox. If you're not familiar with firefox it is a web browser that is meant to be an alternative to IE. Its free to download and use. If you insist on using internet explorer you are most likely going to have to reinstall windows as IE is built into windows. If this is the case I would recommend taking your computer to a pro.

You didn't mentioned your IE version, Download the latest updates and patches for your IE version from
