Internet Explorer 7 gives me "Internet Explorer cannot display the page" error regardless of the page I go to. Sadly there is AOL on this machine and its browser is working and I can connect to anyplace fom there.
I can download updates and such from various programs (ad-aware, spybot, etc...) and can ping www address from a command prompt so I know connectivity is not an issue.
I have reset Internet Explorers settings, reinstalled IE as well as SP 2 for XP.
Please help.

IE 7 is the worst. NOBODY should use it! it's not safe! Good answer Peter, people should stick with Safari and Firefox. Report It
No, Safari is the worst.
IE7 %26gt; Opera %26gt; Firefox %26gt; Safari Report It
You're too slow Jessie S. Everybody knows IE is the worst web browser in the world -- way too many security holes. I know for a fact Microsoft struggles to keep it safe.
It goes like this:
Safari %26gt; Firefox %26gt; Opera %26gt; IE Report It
Try downloading Firefox. (www.firefox.org). I think your IE is having problems connecting to the DNS server. I wish I could tell you more.
Get into the BIOS and see if the time is set correct, This is one of the causes the other cause is check for virus.

It could be a temporary glitch, try again later to see if it resolved it's problem. The other two answers are very good...try Mozilla/Firefox.........but it sounds to me that your savvy about computers already,so I would give it some time.
